Roll with the punches

So it seems my career is a bit more ambiguous than first anticipated. While I haven't entirely failed yet, I have yet to do anything productive. Within the coming months, I hope to change this. I've got a lot of ideas, like always, just burning a hole in my USB. Hopefully I can bring them to fruition with this new organization and focus I've found in my life.

One thing that I'm very excited about is the NG Monthly Writing Contest. After receiving 4th place in February and a subsequent hiatus, I am back with a passion for June's round of writing. I hope this time turns out to be the one where I win it. I'm really shooting for 1st, but I'll be happy with placing again. It's nice being recognized by your peers for a skill you hold very valuable. I really appreciate getting fourth place and I hope to pull a comeback victory.

This months theme is "An Island." I'm starting off very easy. Eight days in and I'm already at half capacity for words. Hopefully the next eight days will the the completion of the story, and the subsequent two weeks, a great round of editing. This is all hopes of course, let's see if I can pull through.

I'm also very proud of some stuff that I'm working on right now with a friend. It's adult based, but it's very professional. I don't feel averse to attaching my name to the project. More information will be provided in my blog as soon as I can talk about it. For the time being, I'll just make an implicit reference to it in my blog posting.

Last but not least, I nearly died recently and it sucked. That being said, please look forward to some more blog posts associated with lots more productivity. I've been relatively obscure here on NG despite my longevity with the site (going on 6 years) which is mostly to blame on myself, partially to blame on the flash forum for providing such an enjoyable distraction. I hope, coming soon, my name will be tacked onto some of the coolest stuff to hit NG.
